I still don't need an app I don't want taking up space. I was fine with using chrome and checking my messages there, but no, you had to block that too. Chrome on my phone should have the same features as desktop. Your messenger app sucks. Don't make your users use it or someday soon, your users may abandon fb completely. Old way better. Messenger go away!

It's super ridiculous. And the app is so big I can't keep.It on my phone I have to wait until somebody messages me then delete my Netflix and put messenger back on my phone.. It is stupid it is the worst idea for an app ever I hate Facebook Messenger. It would be better if you could just message from the facebook app like before

I hated this app before and refused to install it. I prefer to open a browser and use fb like the desktop version. Now every browser on my phone won't allow me to see messages without the app. I reluctantly installed it, and the login is "temporarily unavailable." Why do I have to have a separate app to chat with fb friends privately? How about I open fb, when I choose to do so, and have the news feed, notifications, and private messages all together.

Please, please can we do away with how this app has to take top priority no matter what you're doing. Why isn't a notification in the standard notification bar enough? It pops up when I'm watching videos, playing games, it's absolutely awful. I like being able to communicate with my friends, but it doesn't have to be the very instant they message me. Please fix this, or make an option to turn it off.

It has been 2 weeks, yet again I am complaining because all I have seen is the loading symbol. Unable to see people and messages!!! This is the 3rd time this has happened in 2+ months. It is doing this on my phone and tablet. Fix it PLEASE I am so tired of not being able to socialize and not getting things done just because you all can't keep things working! Thousands of folks working for FB and none can manage to keep messenger working for everyone!! 1 star...

Still the worst IM app between Signal, Allo, WhatsApp, and Voxer. I despise the screen real estate stealing Messenger Day. I don't need friend suggestions or to know if they're online. I get new message notifications from active chats. The newest bug for me is broken push notifications.
Ridiculously large for no reason at all. You force people to use it, because fb messaging doesn't work anymore, and you abuse this situation by creating what amounts to a preposterously overweight piece of junk. Shame I can't give negative number of stars. Either hire better programmers or quit the market because you couldn't write a good app if your life depended on it.
It is alright, mostly does its job but often does not seem to stay connected to the Internet, whether I'm in my data or using wifi, it seems to give me connectivity issues. Fix that, and you'll get 5 stars:) othersiwe, it's pretty decent.
It's package name says it all... com.facebook.orca. It's a bloated beached whale of an app. Why it needs to be ~200mb in size is beyond comprehension. Seriously facebook devs, trim some fat on app size and memory use. Currently it lives up to the 'orca' (killer whale) name in that it kills a ton of storage space and memory that would be better used for something else.
After an update, last message is not displayed/warned. There is a bug on this app? Only I can see is the number of the arrived message (on the home icon) but it doesn't show who is the sender. I should check one by one with my friendlist. Please fix it.
Messager I don't know what happened but mine stopped letting me type responses half the time and then completely disappeared and wouldn't open kept saying that the app wasn't installed and yet I had to uninstall it and reinstall it so I lost all my messenger contacts and have to start over from scratch! Very annoying had a lot of people on there. Ugh!!
It won't even open on my phone unless someone messages me which isn't too often. But I cant tell friends and family that I'm in labor and to come quick because of it. Make it useful again please? Where I can actually open the app on my ZTE blade spark.
This app is too big... I can't keep it in my phone all the time. Everyday I hv to uninstall n reinstall. Too annoying. Pls fix it. Eithet u strt tht process of messeging through FB app or else make it smaller... this app takes too much storage...
It was working fine before but now it doesn't send messages or pictures, even though I have a strong Wi-Fi connection. Whenever I send pictures, it shows "Your message was not sent." I keep clicking send but it does not send. And also it crashes. Please fix oh my gad im fking annoyed jeez EDIT: My friends also have this problem. please pretty please i need to send pictures asap. I also kinda want to have a disable button whether I want to show the "My Day" section or to hide it. Please fix.
Would not let me read any of my messages iy freezes most times and it eats hell of alot of memory. They should have left facebook messages the old way instead of getting an app that completely sucks😥
Was working fine up until 2 days ago. Kept getting error messages to say app was non responsive. Installed and 'tried' reinstalling, taken 24 to finally get it downloaded, now back to square 1. Done a hard reboot, cleared internal storage cache, I've tonnes of memory left. Why does this app need to be stand alone? Pretty poor to not even have the option to open from the FB app. Utterly disappointed 😥
Profile pictures not updating, some sections missing, scrolling through text sometimes becomes very slow (when opening up a new bot chat), messages not being received are not telling us why, GIF/stickers being instantly sent without consent, and a few others. Only some of the small UX problems, but they definitely add up. Facebook just isn't as precise as Google is.
Takes up a decent bit of RAM and memory, forces you to have it unless you want to use a phone browser's desktop view. Chatheads can slow down other apps you have open by a noticeable amount. Other than being rough on older devices, most of the notorious performance issues are ironed out. I'm surprised how stable the app is now.
Very, very crappy after the last few updates. Pictures don't send. I 'can't reply to conversations' even though I know I haven't been blocked. Chat heads disappear when you click on them after receiving a message or when you try to move them on your screen, but it still marks the message as read even if you haven't seen it. Definitely needs to be fixed.
I can watch a video sent by a friend on Messenger without a problem. The problem is after I saved it on my Gallery. It says the video saved, but when I opened the Gallery and watch it, the video plays only few seconds and then stops. Please acknowledge the problem and fix it ASAP.
The issue now is about data. Whenever i search for a stickers in my messenger using data, there will be a pop up message that says I will be charged, that's ok. But here's the problem and it is very annoying. Even if I use wifi to connect with messenger, then I search for stickers, the pop up message still comes up. And it l not let me search for my desired sticker. The stars that I give on this app becomes less and less.
HORRIBLY CLUTTERED!! I've been posting much longer reviews on this terribly designed app for a couple years and it just gets worse. I've been transitioning off Facebook Messenger... just can't deal with all the pointless clutter anymore. #fail
I love that color changes have been added but why would I want to change the color of my own chat bubble. Wouldn't you think that changing the color of the other parties chat bubble would make more sense? This would allow for greater differentiation of all parties in the chat
It need to improve the picture quality while saving from the messages. And also....with the latest update...i am unable to send videos which are of big files... 😈😈😈 at past i used to share many videos which were of big files....but now it sucks...and it won't let me send videos and more and more this app is getting bigger day by day...which is annoying...😠😠😠
Ever since my last update, it only works if I un-install and then reinstall it, and it'll only work that first time, after which it doesn't open, just keeps flashing as it tries to!! Pretty useless and annoying.
Please fix the stickers so that they all work.. many of them havent been working for a long time.. other than that pretty good ^^ also please fix the camera as it always crashes for me :( i will rate 5 stars when these problems are fixed!!
Good for messaging. However do wish you guys would go back to just having "active now" show when a person is on Facebook and the green dot when they are on messenger, makes it more simple. As it is the green dot appears even if a person is on just Facebook. Keep them separate
I don't want to see people's days. It tells me I have messages but it's just people using the your day thing. Stop trying to be like Snapchat it's annoying. Also now with the latest update I can't block people from messaging me at all.
1. Whenever someone's call on messenger on random time it unwillingly recieved by just touching the recieved button which got serious when happens with video call so their should be an process ,in which first both the person, caller and reciever agree to make call then only one can call. 2. Conversation colours are optional and most of them are dull in appearance and not so suitable to put on conversation so add more colours.
The only big problem I have with it is some of the emojis specificly these ones-😢😬😳😯😔😿😡😠😱, they dont look like their supposed to. 😢 this one represents ectreme sadness, but not exactly crying. 😬 this is supposed to symbalize frustration, its portrayed as a frown in messenger. 😳 this is supposed to be a nervous blushing face, not a surprised blushing face. 😯 this one is supposed to be a sympathetic surprised and worried face, not just surprised. 😔 this one is supposed to be sympathetic not surprised. 😿 this is supposed to be a sad kitty, tbh you got the sad part right it's just the design. 😡 this one, again is the design, the disign in the app looks weird and like a different emoji specificly this one-😠. 😠 this one is again the design it's supposed to be red, not yellow. 😱 and this one is of course, the design it's a bit weird how it's designed. Can you please get these fixed, I would appreciate it, thanks!
After recent update, it now says I can't message anyone. Service temporarily down, updates are supposed to make things better not worse. It's quite annoying. Facebook and it's messenger has to many updates...Ridiculous.
Watch out for this one, takes over your phone! Subversivly takes over and prevents your phone's 'close app' feature from working. Blocks security features from working. Do Not Download unless you want to get hacked on Facebook.
Terrible, since two weeks ago every time when I try to access messenger stops after 10 seconds, I can't talk or read messages, it is crazy because I have Android 7 and my cellphone has 6GB RAM, but this app gives me headache. I hate it.
Every time I'm on a call my phone starts blinking. It has been doing this for a long time. My friends say there phone does the same thing and it did it on my old phone and Tablet
i updated this app just today, and now i cant send pic. it keeps saying send failed. even if i have a strong connection to my wifi. please fix this im really frustrated.
Only person in the world with old version? Am i the only one to be unavle to download the new version of this app? When i go to the google store it tells me that the app is updated but my friends have a different version? Any one know why? Is my device not able to get this new version? I never had the story type of thing u added a while ago. I uninstalled and reinstalled but still the old version.. plus this is the only app to communicate on fb, please make it avaible for everyone! This app is way to big for what it does. Have to keep deleting and re adding apps to allow this to work. Why can't it be smaller or even better have one app for Facebook it's ridiculous.
Do your homework before you slate this fantastic app. It needs the permissions it asks for in order to work! Without them you wouldn't be able to do anything! Facebook DON'T access your camera or microphone whenever they like. Google it and see for yourself instead of just repeating what other paranoid people have told you. UPDATE: This latest update has broken the app on all my devices! Whenever I try and reply to an inbox the window just disappears. I have to resort to SMS to contact them! UPDATE : It's so annoying that this and Facebook have updates almost daily!! What's the point? Just do it fortnightly or whatever and have done with it!
Stupid app sends you notification for no reason.bet u ppl won't use it if FB app could show the messages. Still prefer to open webpage on mobile for chats.
