March for Science Organizers Detail Plans for Global Events, Including Flagship March in the Nation’s Capital

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Monday, April 10) – Today, international organizers of the world’s first-ever March for Science set the stage for the flagship event in Washington, DC, co-organized by the Earth Day Network, as well as the more than 400 coordinated events happening across the world on April 22. The event will be the first step in the global movement to defend the vital role science plays in everyday life, including in health, safety, economies, and governments.

March for Science Announces Three Honorary National Co-Chairs

The March for Science announced three honorary co-chairs today who will help promote the march globally, speak at its Washington, DC event and encourage others to join together to support and defend science. They are Mona Hanna-Attisha, a pediatrician who exposed dangerous lead poisoning in Flint, Michigan; Lydia Villa-Komaroff, a biologist who made critical contributions to producing insulin from bacteria, and the co-founder of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), a march partner; and Bill Nye, a science educator and CEO of The Planetary Society, which is also a partner organization for the march.

60+ Organizations Join March for Science, Network of Satellite Marches Nears 400 Globally

The March for Science is pleased to announce its second round of 63 additional partner organizations today. Less than two months after the march was first announced, the number of partners approaches 100 organizations, which includes global institutions, and ranges from scientific societies to unions.

In addition to the growing number of partnering organizations, new marches are registered in cities around the world each day. Close to 400 marches and rallies in 37 countries are scheduled to take place on April 22. The March for Science represents an unprecedented gathering of people standing together to champion science that serves the common good, and the indispensable role it plays in our lives and communities.

March for Science Announces First Round of Partnerships and New Ways to Support Its Work – Network of Satellite Marches Nears 300 Globally

WASHINGTON (Thursday, February 23) - The March for Science today announced its first round of partner organizations, including many leading scientific, academic, and educational institutions, among them, Earth Day Network (EDN), which will co-organize the national March for Science rally and teach-in in Washington, D.C. on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22.

In just the last month since the concept of a March for Science went viral online, 287 satellite marches across the globe have been organized with more coming online every day, and more than 50,000 volunteers have responded to offer assistance.
