Switching from iPhone?
Let's get started.

Transfer works for iOS 8.0 and up. Here's what you'll need:

  • The Quick Switch Adapter that came with your Pixel
  • The SIM ejection tool that came with your Pixel
  • Your iPhone's charging cable
  • Both your iPhone and Pixel charged to at least 50%

Turn off iMessage on your iPhone.

If you don’t turn off iMessage on your iPhone, you will not receive all messages on your Pixel. If your SIM card is still in your iPhone you can disable iMessage by opening Settings > Messages and set iMessage to off. Then, go to Settings > Facetime and set FaceTime to off.

If you've already inserted your SIM card into your Pixel, you can request Apple deregister your number with iMessage by going here.

If your phone is managed by a business, school or other organization, please go here.

If you turned on backup encryption, please go here.

Insert SIM card and turn on your Pixel.
  1. First, pop open your iPhone's SIM tray and remove your current SIM.
  2. Open the Pixel's SIM tray on the top left edge of the phone using the SIM ejection tool that was included in the box.
  3. Insert the SIM card to your Pixel. Once inserted, it may take a few seconds to activate. If you haven’t already, you can now turn on your Pixel.
Connect your Pixel to Wi-Fi.

Find an available network and get online.

Use the Quick Switch Adapter.

Connect your iPhone to your new Pixel using your iPhone’s charging cable and the Quick Switch Adapter, which came with your Pixel.

If your phone isn’t connecting, get additional support by going here.

Sign in to your Google Account.

If you already have a Google Account, sign in with your email or phone number.

If you don’t already have a Google Account, create one to make the most out of your Pixel.

If you have a Google Account but are having trouble signing in, get help at google.com/accounts/recovery.

Transfer your data.

Once you’ve signed in to your Google Account, choose what you want to copy, like your apps*, contacts, calendar events, photos, videos, music, SMS messages, iMessages® and more. Then tap Copy and let your data transfer begin.
