With pre-payment of a year contract, we can migrate your data from other forum software as well as most custom software, provided the data can be reasonably exported.
Are there educational or non-profit discounts?
If you are legally recognized as an educational instutution we offer an 85% discount. If you are legally recognized as a non-profit organization, we offer a 50% discount. Please contact us after starting your trial and we’ll add the discount to your account.
Unfortunately, none of these plans fit my budget
Good news! Discourse is, and will always be, 100% free and open source software. For a flat one-time fee of $99, the community can install Discourse in the cloud for you. Please note that a $10/month hosting fee is still payable to the cloud provider (Digital Ocean), and that this option is completely self-support after the initial install. Can I switch plans?
Upgrade or downgrade plans any time for any reason. Let us know and we’ll make it happen.
Can I transition from self-install to hosted, or vice-versa?
Yes. Migrating from Discourse to Discourse is free, and typically takes less than a day.
What happens if I go over the plan limits?
Your site will never stop working. Our general rule is you’d need to be more than 2× over for at least 3 months before we will contact you to discuss options.
Can I switch to a different host?
Your data always belongs to you. Back up and restore all your Discourse data right from your web browser, any time. Migrate to or from any cloud provider with ease.
