Free and Shared ^Preview

The Free and Shared (preview) service plans are ideal for experimenting with the platform and for development and test scenarios. Use the Free plan to quickly evaluate our platform and convert the app at any time to one of the paid plans without delays or downtime. The Shared (preview) plan allows you to develop and test in an environment with features such as SSL, domain names, and more before production and is suitable for low traffic sites. Free and Shared plans are metered on a per App basis, rather than a per instance basis as is the case with Basic, Standard and Premium plans.

Price for Shared (preview) plan reflects a preview discount.

Basic Service Plan^{LINUX PREVIEW}

Designed for apps that have lower traffic requirements and do not need more advanced autoscale and traffic management features. Pricing is based on the size and number of VM instances you run. Built-in network load balancing support automatically distributes traffic across VM instances.

Standard Service Plan^{LINUX PREVIEW}

Designed for production API, Mobile, and Web apps. There are no limits on the number of apps/domains you can host using the Standard service plan. Pricing is based on the size and number of VM instances you run. Built-in network load balancing support automatically distributes traffic across the VM instances. The Standard plan includes built-in autoscale support that can automatically adjust the number of VM instances running to match your traffic needs. It also includes built-in backup support.

Premium Service Plan

Designed for production apps, the Premium plan supports larger numbers of scale instances, additional connectors, and BizTalk capabilities, while still including all the advanced capabilities found in the Standard plan. The Premium plan also offers the ability to create App Service Environments (ASE) which provide full isolation and operate in the customer’s virtual network and can scale up to 50 instances (more available upon request). Custom domain

Azure App Service Web Apps customers can now add custom domains to their Web Apps account and manage them within the same portal they manage their web subscriptions. The top level domains that will be available are com, net, co.uk, org, nl, in, biz, org.uk, and co.in.

Azure App Service Certificates

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates for custom domains is available on Basic, Standard, and Premium service plans. SSL Certificates enables secure connections (https://) to your custom domain Website.

Azure App Service customers can now purchase SSL Certificates to use with variety of apps. You can purchase Standard SSL Certificates or Wildcard SSL Certificates for the rates below. Both the SSL Certificates types have 1-year validity period, which can be set for auto-renewal upon purchase.

SSL connections

Azure App Service supports two types of SSL connections: Server Name Indication (SNI) SSL Connections and IP Address SSL Connections. SNI-based SSL works on modern browsers while IP-based SSL works on all browsers.

There is no charge to use SNI-based SSL. Standard and Premium service plans include the right to use one IP SSL at no additional charge. Free and shared service plans do not support SSL. You can purchase the right to use additional SSL connections for the rates below. In all cases the SSL cert itself must be purchased separately.
