    Yesterday the DC Council held first vote (13-0) to create a maternal mortality review committee. Intro'd by , MMRC would examine every death during pregnancy, during child birth, or year after. Thx to Kojo for highlighting the issue.

    DC Council, on first vote, passes 's bill to create a maternal mortality review committee - the issue of maternal mortality has long deserved greater study. This is the first step to ending many preventable deaths.

    It’s official! Just moments ago, the DC Council passed ’s Act 13-0. Big moment for DC. This puts the power back with DC residents and opens the door for more candidates to run viable campaigns. Congrats to everyone who worked for years on this issue!
