Great but floating screen has a usability problem Works offline, gets clipboard automatically and opens a floating bubble. SUGGESTION For the new tap to translate screen (the one invoked from floating overlay bubble). The change (invert) option for languages is missing and needs to much scroll and time to change language. Add the language inversion option or put the preferred languages on top of menu, but Keep the default behaviour that inverts languages when one of them are selected.

Overall this is one of Google best app ever. But, I would like to give a suggestion to u guys. Can u guys add a new update that actually support reboot auto start feature? Im so sorry if u guys cant understand my word, but I hope u guys can😅 that's it! But overall I love this app so much, really helpful! Thumbs up👍!

Was fine at first...then something happened. I downloaded it for obviously translations, BUT it was also because of the photo translations. I recently bought Japanese candy and dagashi and used the photo translate feature to translate the packaging. About 85% of it made complete sense. That was the end of November. I bought more dagashi recently again, and the translations were complete nonsense. They kept changing too. Please fix the bugs! Something isn't right.

Maldives Language Missing It's Good to use the Google translate but When I search the Maldives Language Dhivaghi it's find missing in Google translate. Consider including this language also because Maldives is one of the greatest tourist destinations in the world. So it's very helpful for the tourists to communicate with them. Hope Google will solve this problem as soon as possible...

Best translate Mostly I translate English to Hindi .it show so many words in one row but I can't pick up any specific word by long touch. Second you should provide sentence "example mode" according to part of speech to define how to use any word in manner of noun, verb ,adverb

Bulgarian translation needs improvement At least you have Bulgarian language translation on this app. It has helped but it sure can use a revision! When writing or speaking in Bulgarian it doesn't translate correctly, nor when speaking English it doesn't translate that well into Bulgarian, sometimes its absolutely incorrect. Hopefully the developers can soon also add the actual Bulgarian voice into the app so people can hear how to say even hello correctly in Bulgarian. Overall, I am happy you have it, just needs some improvement.

Works good on IOS iPhone. Not on android Swiched from iPhone. On iPhone it works great and very intuitive UI. Much much better. Here its terrible. Slow and user un friendly. Seems google is trying harder for apple than for google. Strange or that's because apple is testing the apps before publishing them unlike google. What is the point that when you start typing the typing window minimizes ans jumps to the top ans thus way you get a tiny typing window whuch is covering the languages so you don't even know from which to which language translates

Great offline dictionary for Spanish. Love the pop up for translating copied text. Some phrases/words don't translate well due to the quirky nature of languages but usually you can get your point across. I find the translations from Spanish to English can be very odd when folks are speaking informally. It's good enough to follow the thread of the conversation though. Nifty camera app to read text (very useful for reading ingredients in a package) and talk to translate but you have to be online for those features to work. Not a big deal if you have Wi-Fi available. All in all a great app for world travelers!

Part time work This app worked like a champ for 4 months. After that, it cuts off mid sentence and starts reading. We have to stop and start over. Many times it will not detect our voice so it does nothing. Very frustrating. Does this in English and Spanish. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no success.

Bugs make it unusable Tap to translate icon will delay, then not leave the screen all together. It stays on the screen even when I have not used it. When this happens i can no longer use the app as the tap to translate box keeps popping up, and pops up on other apps to prevent usage I turn the feature off, clear cache, clear data, and force stop the app but the only fix is by uninstalling and reinstalling, until it inevitably happens again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this application probably over a dozen times.

Not as good anymore I have been using this app for years to translate Turkish to English. In recent months it has not been translating messages properly. Sometimes it will just repeat the same one word when clearly that is not the message. Needs fixing as i rely on this app to communicate with my husband.

To earn that fifth star back, bring back the view of recently used entries that contained the small phrase I currently have up. You used to have a list of recent entries containing the phrase there for me to tap, now I have to tap the arrow, and the recent entries appear and disappear quickly in the blink of an eye, and I have to move quickly to tap it! Fix this issue!

Useful but interferes with Bluetooth media connection Can be useful although the translation leaves a bit to be desired sometimes, especially with italian, but the main issue I've found is when streaming music through bluetooth, opening the app cuts the connection and plays the music through the phone. Please fix this issue.

I have to take a photo first? Then tell it which words to translate? Description says instant translations..It needs access to internet as well...when it says it workd offline? this is not what the app description said, offline does not work, useless then..Very Misleading.

Rubbish The offline option is totally useless, it doesn't work, keeps telling you to download something but refusing to let you actually download. If you do get something downloaded it tells you it's not there. Better off with a phrasebook. Or hitting yourself on the head with a brick.

Grammar problem I am a new learner of English language. The most of the features of this app is very helpful for me. But I think it has a problem that "Google translate" can't translate grammatically correct. Specially When I try to translate sentance from HINDI to ENGLISH, translated sentence are not grammatically correct, it happens Specially in long sentences . Kindly try to improve it, I need help, so I will talk and write English correctly in future.

Google translate saved my vacation It may not perfectly translate in colloquial algorithm but it does it's function to the point where each party understands what the other party is trying to say. Being first time in Mexico City little did we know that English is not commonly spoken. communicating simple words became a challenge. Even though we had a travelers guide book for Spanish, if Google translate hadn't been there, our vacation would have been ruined. Thank You Google!!

Works like a charm For most part, translation is right on the money. Due to multiple Grammer or word usage, there could be some ambiguity but if you know the general topic of the translation, one can deduce the missing link

Worse Application It is the worse Application, don't download it. Because GOOGLE HAS NOT WORD DICTIONARY FOR PROPER MEANING OF WORDS AND PHRASES. IT IS LAWFULLY UNAUTHORISED AND VOID.. BECAUSE WHEN FULL INTERNET ACCESS CONNECTION ARE AVAILABLE AT TIME THIS APP CAN'T GIVE MEANING OF THE WORDS. ..

Can't download offline packages I get the 'can't get offline packages list' notification. Another thing I really hate is how small the offline dictionaries have became. They used to take a generous amount of space and actually work offline, now they're just very useless!

Useful update screwed things up. I loved this app however, the update screwed things up. When press on Share, the following options appear: Wi-Fi Direct (unnecessary) Bluetooth (unnecessary) Android System (unnecessary) Hangouts (an app that I despise and is unnecessary) Keep (unnecessary) Email (unnecessary) Android System (there's another button for this option) Gmail (unnecessary) convert to PDF (unnecessary) Convert to PDF (again what is with the 2nd button) translate, 1note, 1drive, messaging (useful)

Good translator.. but.. It has handwriting choice which helps alot translating different language easily instead of using keyboard. I am abit dissappointed with camera translate.. as it doesnt supports some languages, like hindi..

Not working on wifi Used to work great for me. But ever since it updated it will not translate over wifi. Once I turn wifi off it has no problems translating. Thought it might be issue with my phone wifi signal. But no other translation apps have this problem. Nexus 5x

No substitute, but still brilliant Google Translate is no substitute for an interpreter or translator, but it certainly is a great help! I have used it to help my Italian friends when their English fails them and used it in German conversation when I don't know a word. It is also great for learning bits and pieces of new languages.

An absolute life saver This app has been amazing while I've been in France, I can read French quite well, but i absolutely suck at speaking it, so having this app really has helped, I needed it because my girlfriend fell ill and has needed hospitalisation while in Paris. The translations are not perfect, and some translations it offers are downright gibberish, but even so, I could not have survived without it, an essential app if you're going abroad and you don't speak the language. 5 stars

Great translation; needs better mic UI The translations are impressive and useful. Microphone UI makes many use cases cumbersome. Although conversation mode is useful it should not have removed dictation and history abilities.

Really useful and well done But tap to translate is poorly implemented. If you tap anywhere near the bubble, even a second or two after the bubble goes away, it'll still show me the translation. This has gotten so annoying that I've had to turn off what should be a useful feature.

Amazing The ability to translate wherever you happen to be is fantastic. I know that the following requires significantly more technology and effort, but it would be cool to eventually get to the point where there can be both speech recognition and then translation,even with a high error rate.

Excellent! I love this up but... It's great when translating between European languages but try English and Korean:) It simply doesn't work. It produces nonsense translations. Still way to go.

Under-exposed image from camera Hi. Using the app on a Nexus 5. The image the app is getting from the camera is very under exposed, even the flash turned on won't help. This issue came with the recent updates, as everything was fine before. Please try to solve this issue. Thanks
