I have to the same issue as others it would get stuck on a song or ads and it would stop playing. I have to clear app storage to get it unstuck. Please fix this issue. I am tried of re login after clearing storage

Every time I go to Hulu Support folks to take a look at why I can't login to Hulu anymore, it takes me to pricing page and a MyDisney login page. I don't have an account with MyDisney nor want one. I have Spotify Premium with Hulu and understand I'm grandfathered into Hulu. I have made no changes to my account (except to update my credit card....does that count?) and have had Spotify Premium with Hulu for a long time. I've tried logging into my Spotify account as you instructed but still through Account Overview and Your Services, it wants me to login to MyDisney( which I can't do, because I don't have an account with them). and sign my for the pricing options. HELP??!!

Spotify Premium shuffle Repeating same group of songs over and over

I have several playlists and I like to listen to them on shuffle however, when I do that, it only plays the same block of songs repeatedly, skipping others. I can listen to a playlist on shuffle today, come back tomorrow and pick a song to start on in the same playlist and choose shuffle and it plays many of the same songs I heard yesterday from shuffling the same playlist. One playlist has 440 songs and the other has 291 songs and both of them do the same thing.

It sucks when having a party that the same songs we heard a few hours ago are being repeated but so many others were never played. What is the point of having shuffle if it's not going to truly SHUFFLE?

I have the same problem on two different powerful machines. The problem is either with the app or with the web player with any Chromium based browser (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi). But using the web player in Firefox, or the Windows 10 (32-bit) version from the official Spotify website, the lag disappears.

I have the same issue, and the clean reinstall did not fix it. It has also happened with the my episodes playlist.

Wife can't join Duo plan

My Question or Issue

I just rejoined Spotify on a Duo plan for me and my wife. When she clicks the invite link, it does not prompt her to verify address. Instead, it says that "You can't join this plan." It says that Spotify could not verify her address and that she must wait 12 months to join a plan. We were previously on a family plan together, which ended earlier this year.

My Question or Issue

Spotify always lags/freezes and heats up my phone (a lot) it gets quite hot as if I was playing a game. It also causes my phone's operating system to freeze/crash from time to time. It doesn't do it straight away but maybe 5-10 mins.

And it is not a issue with my phone and I know it's not because I'm a very knowledgeable in IT. Reinstalling Spotify, clearing cache and factory resetting device are simple standard troubleshooting steps that didn't help.

A constant issue that has never been resolved happening for 1 year that had affected many users who have also reported this on forums and in the Google play store. I'm trying to reiterate this to get the word out there since it has not been resolved yet. It also happens if accessing downloaded offline music.

Seems to be an optimization issue which I do understand due to the amount of android phones but after 1 year this issue would be expected to be fixed. Though in essence, due to the poor optimization it causes higher processor usage thus heat creation but also memory leaks in the code leads to unoptimized RAM usage which has a knock on effect on the Android OS performance.

It also won’t work on an Apple Watch that has its own number. The only way I can use Spotify on my watch is if I have my phone with me too. And even then, all I can do through the watch is change the song. So irritating.

Show the artist name when sharing on social media

Here’s something that’s really annoyed me for ages and I think it should be fixed ASAP because to me it just seems like common sense and shows some respect and credit to the artist. Why when you share a song on Facebook or wherever does it only display the title of the track and not the artist? Just seeing a random track title doesn’t really say much, it could be anyone - all yous need to do is show the name of the artist as well or who made the track or who’s credited with it. I don’t know why you wouldn’t do that? It just seems like common sense.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

Just to confirm, does this always happen with the same playlist? If so, is it a large playlist? Additionally, we'd like to know if you're using any SD card or only the internal storage of your phone.

On another note, we'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If the issue resurfaces after the reinstall, we suggest that you follow these steps (if you have the Samsung Device Care installed on your phone):

1. Go to Device Care.
2. Tap Memory.
3. Tap Excluded apps.
4. Tap +.
5. Select Spotify and tap Add.

Lastly, restart your phone.

Let us knowhow it goes.

The issue seems to have miraculously resolved for me. Doesn’t seem to be due to any update. My best guess is it is one two things: 1) I changed my Spotify password recently. I’ve had weird issues in the past with my Spotify getting hacked for ghost plays so maybe there was a security issue; or 2) I joined a jam session over Bluetooth and the problem seems to have resolved right afterwards. I know this has always been a screwy Spotify feature anyways that has often caused my app to crash when trying to use it.

I don’t really understand why either of these may have fixed the issue and I can’t be sure they were in fact the fix. But these are the only factors that have been followed by change.

Curious if either of these work for other folks having this issue.

I have the same issue described on Manjaro (Arch) and MX-Linux (Debian).

Launching from terminal keeps reproducing the error over and over:

[jesuslinux@A9410 ~]$ spotify
*** stack smashing detected ***: terminated

The app behaves normal and plays music.

I came here looking for answers and fixes.

If you use snap, you can install the most recent working version using `snap install spotify --revision 79` (rev 79 = 1.2.45.454.gc16ec9f6). That's what worked for me, at least.

I'm also seeing this issue on my computer. Running Xubuntu 24.04.1 LTS with an AMD A8-3870 CPU. The latest version that works is 1.2.45 (1.2.48 and 1.2.50 fail). Since I installed Spotify as a snap, I was able to revert using `snap refresh spotify --revision 79`. If Spotify isn't already installed as a snap, you can run `snap install spotify --revision 79`

I was experiencing the same problems with Spotify so I followed the instructions listed above but I am experiencing the same issues less than 24 hours after restarting and throughly reinstalling the app.

Nothing, the same error and it hasn’t fixed
