"I am concerned about it," Barr says of spying on the Trump campaign in 2016. "There might be abuses that don't rise to the level of a crime." He declined to explain the basis for his concern about spying in 2016.

AG Barr won't say if the White House has seen the Mueller Report. President Trump today said: "I have not seen the Mueller report. I have not read the Mueller report. I won. No collusion, no obstruction...The whole thing was illegal. I have not read the Mueller report."

AG Barr says that every page of the Mueller Report had a warning on it and that nothing was available for release when he received it because it hadn't been vetted. "I think summaries are subject to criticism..I think just stating the bottom line is entirely appropriate," he says

WATCH: "I think spying [on the 2016 Trump campaign] did occur," Attorney General William Barr tells a Senate subcommittee. "But the question is whether it was ... adequately predicated. And I'm not suggesting it wasn't adequately predicated, but I'd need to explore that."

Pres Trump comments just now on southern U.S. border: "President Obama built the cages...separated children. He had child separation." Defends tough policy as effective. Also denies he wants to "clean house" at Dept of Homeland Security.

Randolph D. “Tex” Alles, who is stepping down as Director of the U.S. Secret Service, says in statement: "No doubt you have seen media reports regarding my 'firing.' I assure you that this is not the case, and in fact was told weeks ago" that DHS transitions were coming.

Senior WH official just told me US Secret Service director Randolph Alles leaving is not connected to DHS Secretary Nielsen leaving. The official pushed back when asked whether there was chaos in the WH and instead said that Alles was there 2 years and WH wanted to make a change.

DHS source tells me that they expect Pres Trump to remain frustrated w/ DHS after Nielsen because many of the things Trump wants to do like changing process for asylum seekers & penalizing parents for bringing their kids with them to seek asylum can’t be done under current laws.
