You could install a page/ost duplicator plugin and then work on the duplicate content... Once you are satisfied you could delete the old page/post and replace it by the complete one...?

As others have mentioned, WP is a CMS, being able to organize data based on tags and other meta-data should be the easy part. I realize the idea is about "folders", but a "folder", doesn't have to be on disk, and could just be some extra meta-data with the default access to content through the paths the images are accessed now. Even a "moderate" sized site, with thousands of images, using say Woo Commerce, is difficult to manage in Wordpress from the POV of the media library.

WordPress is a great platform. It would be much better if the dashboard has a notification module which gets updated when the PHP, JS code is throwing errors.

If this feature is added to WP, we don't have to log into VPS or check log files for finding errors

Hi,

My hosting provider took a huge leap forward and started offering free certificates (free Comodo and Let's Encrypt) to all customers. My site seems to be using Comodo's free SSL tied together with cPanel. How the implementation was done in detail I do not know. I saw some 307 redirects in Pingdom before I used the 301.

The only things that were left for me to do were:
changing SITE and HOMEURL
Resave permalinks
Add 301 redirect to https
and clean up loose ends (hardcoded links ans sitemaps)

All went quite painlessly

Running a site in a subfolder has its pros and cons. As we all know, WordPress adds a trailing slash to your site address and creates 301 redirect by doing so. Now, when everything is pushed towards https there is one thing that should be taken under consideration.

If I force WP to use https with 301 redirect my site does two redirects.

From
http://www.mysite.com/blog
to
http://www.mysite.com/blog/
to
https://www.mysite.com/blog/

Could it be built into some function that WordPress would redirect
http://www.mysite.com/blog
directly to
https://www.mysite.com/blog/
if the site is using https?

This would shave off some tenths of a second from site loading, and would probably be better for SEO as well.

First: You can rename wp-config.php = config.php
Second: replace all require 'wp-config.php' = require 'configs.php';

People are already making plugins for this. Sadly, our tests and studies showed they were not used by the majority, and with space at a premium, they lost :(

I think Wordpress needs a button like as "Remove All Menu". When we need to remove all menu from the section then we do it one by one expanding each item or "Delete Menu" button. We want to keep the menu name just remove menu items under the menu name.

I think my English was bad.
It would be nice to have two options when adding an image in an article or page via "media". The first is the one already in place: an IMG tag. The second is to be able to place the image in a div containing an background and to be able to choose the following styles: size, position. The goal being to be able to add a block of text over the image without using a plugin (sometimes expensive).
The style "cover" is better than "width : 100%"

@easy: Right, these plugins make a great job. But to be honest I don't feel comfortable using too many 3rd party plugins. (security risk, maintenance, no support/updates in future...)

Sure, I'm happy to pay for a proper solution, but there is still the problem that a 3rd party coder will discontinue work on it.

I'm envisioning something similar to NPM's package.json file. Ideally, it could be used to download and install all plugins in one click.

Another hand up for encouraging line numbers in the code editor. For me the argument that one should be editing themes and plugins on the fly is a valid and yet potentially irrelevant point. The editor is also used for adding code to a theme's style.css and functions.php file, and that's a common practice, and not necessarily to be discouraged.

What's more, if there's an editor, why not make it a little more functional? Line numbering seems like a fairly basic feature for code editing.

For now, I'll run with using a plug-in. There are quite a few, for anyone who's interested:

You can download Jetpack from this link:

Just extract the files. Then look for this folder:

jetpack.4.4.2.zip\jetpack\modules\minileven\theme\pub\minileven

Upload that entire minileven folder to your website under wp-content/themes/ It will then become one of the themes you can choose from your administrative panel.
