The gap between the menu and the header image is a top margin on the header image parent div. Add the following to close that up.

Hi there, if only every theme were this easy to do this on. Go to Customize > CSS, delete all the informational text in that window, and paste in the following custom CSS to make the header image full width on Gazette.

.header-image-inner {
  width: 100%;
}
.header-image-inner img {
  width: 100%;
}

@bziter, what @geoffreyshilling says is correct. Many times the answers for self-hosted sites is different from those here at WordPress.com due to difference in the themes themselves. There are a lot of features that are standard here that are not on self-hosted sites, and of course there are things that can be done to self-hosted sites that cannot be done here, so to prevent confusion for users, we always point self-hosted users to the WordPress.org forums.

There is a dedicated Twenty Fourteen theme support forum at WordPress.org.

Yes, that's the script I've been using for about a year and a half. It's pretty reliable. Usually it redirects imperceptibly, but occasionally I find an edit link will slip into Calypso for a second or two before redirecting to WP Admin. I haven't tried the other link you mention, because I do use Calypso sometimes while assisting others in the forums.

On the Goran Theme Showcase page, if you scroll to the bottom, under "Extras" it has two button styles already in the theme, CSS classes button and button minimal.

On normal pages, there is not really a way to add the call to action button to the header image. CSS is a styling document used by browsers to position and style the elements of a web page and cannot be use to add functionality, such as the HTML for a linked button.

You can easily add the button to the content of pages, or you can even insert the code into a text widget in the top of the sidebar on static pages that are using the default template with the sidebar.

We could use CSS to move the button up and over the header image from within the sidebar, but this is a tricky thing to get to work well on responsive designed themes such as Goran.

I am not able to access website and Admin as well. I have also tried deleting all plugins
manually but doesnt work. Changed to default theme doesnt work. I have installed new WP it worked but as soon as exported the same database of the site, again i am unable to open the website.

I was already able to get back to the classic editor if I wanted by using the wp-admin link in the meta component in the footer of my blog. But that wasn't good enough for me. The redirecting to that modern thing still upset me.

Using your comment as a prompt, I was able to discover that the most viable work-around is the script offered on this page, though I've also installed the script that prevents the message mentioned in my OP from showing.

HELP!
I'm trying to do two things at once:
1) establish myself as a journalist by having a website with my own name (krisjeden.com)
2) using the website as a portfolio of different projects, starting with the one I'm working on now, called bluenotesphl.com

bluenotesphl is a blog whose articles will each have a few photos and a 10-60min audio file. I need to have 16 blog posts for this project.

Can you please tell me what my options are and make some theme recommendations?

A few days ago, the admin bar (the black bar over the top of my WordPress blog) changed. I used to be able to click right through to access all comments, spam, write a new blog post, etc.

Now, all of that seems unavailable. I can't figure out how to get into a blog I share with friends in order to add a 'Site Admin' plug-in so we can get to the Site Admin page.

Every time someone tries enter the website address, it comes up as is not available and I have to send them the link. It's the only way the web site can be seen. It says website was deleted by the author.

Hi there,

I recently cancelled and deleted the WordPress.com website due to limited capabilities. Instead I have recently paid for hosting via bluehost as recommended by WordPress.org. I have also followed the relevant steps to install WordPress however the below error comes up:

Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain is not found. Please log in and go to the domains upgrades page of your blog to use the domain.

Are you able to please advise how I can use my WordPress.org? I do not want to use WordPress.com.

Hi there,

I have three featured pages on my homepage, and I put in featured images for each one. However, when I go on their respective pages now, the featured image is huge and takes away from the page (ex. Classes and Registration page). How do I make these images only show up on the homepage?

Also, is there any way to make the "Learn More" buttons even? I tried filling the box up with just enough text but that doesn't seem to be working.
