After Greece fell 50 places in the World Press Freedom Index in 2015, one of the biggest-ever falls, hopes were pinned on the new government headed by Alexis Tsipras. Before the elections, Tsipras promised to end the power wielded by the media barons, a handful of businessmen who for years have used the media to further their business interests. Will this election promise be kept?
