Pacifica National Board approved on August 4, 2016 the following timeline for the second ballot in 2016 of proposed bylaws amendments to the Pacifica Bylaws:


Sunday, August 14, 2016 Proposed bylaws amendments for this ballot are to be submitted to: secretary @ pacifica.org (close spaces to send email) by 11:59 PM ET.


Monday, August 15: Proposed bylaws amendments for this ballot to be posted to pacifica.org ("notice date").
Monday, August 15 — Wednesday, September 28: On-air announcements about the proposed bylaws amendments process posted to the pacifica.org website are to be broadcast on all five radio stations three times a day - twice between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM and once between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
Thursday, September 29: PNB to review and vote on the proposed bylaws amendments.
Sunday, November 27: Deadline for Delegates at each of the five stations to vote on PNB-approved proposed bylaws amendments.

• by 6 directors, or
• by 2 LSBs by majority, or
• by 1% of the Pacifica membership (see http://pacifica.org/indexed_bylaws/art17sec1.html for details).

We request that proposed bylaws amendments be sent to secretary @ pacifica.org (close spaces to send email) as .doc files (not as .docx files) and include the following:

1. A title for the proposed bylaws amendment;
2. The existing bylaws language and its current citation(s);
3. The proposed new bylaws language and (all) affected bylaws section(s), with changes made obvious by using strike-throughs, italics, capitalization or bold, etc.;
4. A brief, clear rationale for the proposed change(s);
5. The name of the proposer(s);
6. Signatories to the proposed bylaws amendment.

How proposed bylaws amendments are approved

For most amendments to be approved, they must pass the Pacifica National Board by a majority of its membership, and then be passed by a majority of delegates at each of 3 of the 5 stations. Particular types of bylaws amendments also require approval by the members via written ballot, and some bylaws amendments may be approved directly by the members even if the boards do not approve them.

Tuesday, August 2: Final Report on adopted bylaws amendments to be posted to pacifica.org.
Adopted bylaws amendments: Based on the current bylaws, within 15 days of approval of any of the proposed bylaws amendments via the entire process (see "How proposed bylaws amendments are approved" below), those new bylaws amendments will be posted to the pacifica.org website and will be incorporated into the bylaws.
