Schuylkill Yards & 30th Street Station Master Plan
Brandywine Realty and Drexel University have bold ambitions for Schuylkill Yards, a $3.5 billion plan for a 14-acre "innovation neighborhood" around and north of 30th Street Station. The project would blend education facilities, corporate offices, new public spaces, retail and residential development. The partners promise is to bring development without displacement, but neighbors in Mantua and Powelton want to make sure they stand to benefit from the growth to come. Amtrak has also unveiled a new master plan for 30th Street Station that dovetails with the innovation neighborhood envisioned to surround it.
