As we live the final weeks of 2016 and look forward to new adventures in 2017, it's also nice to go back and reminisce about the good music that came out of this year. While we've lived in a "singles-driven" music industry over the past few years, 2016 was quite successful in putting out LPs that made people want to listen to more than just the hit singles. So we took a look back at the year's many records and selected our favorite 25 albums.

When we thought A Tribe Called Quest was gone forever, they surprised us all with the release of their new album, We got it from here... Thank You 4 Your service. And while comebacks try to bring in some of the more current sounds of today, this record is the opposite. While the lyrical content might be what the rappers are feeling today, the beats brings us back to the hip-hop that weaved melody and beats so effortlessly that you couldn't help but nod your head.
