On 28 July 2016, players from Rwanda, Uganda and Angola competing in the FIBA Africa U-18 Championship visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial to pay respects to the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi. During their visit, the team laid wreaths on the burial place where more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide have been laid to rest.
