Well, it's not anything *we* do, but we also don't run as an official pod. The administrator of that pod is aware and currently investigating. :)

Look, folks. Whatever you do, you do you and we wish you the best of luck. But don't treat decentralization as just another feature you may or may not implement in the future. That's not something you can just turn on, that's something one has to build a concept around.

"compare us to who you were when you were starting" Well, still decentralized. Registrations to the core team's pod,(, were invite-only in the beginning, so alternative installations like and poped up basically from on 0.

We are decentralized and don't fool around claiming that "we want to get there eventually". Ultimately, when using diaspora*, you don't have to trust our "we are privacy-friendly" statements, because you can simply set up your own node and trust yourself. ;)

We just published the 0.7.4.1 hotfix version to fix a possible cross-site scripting issue with maliciously crafted OpenGraph metadata. Podmins, please update as soon as possible. Users, you don't have anything to do ;) #0741

diaspora* architecture is very similar to the email's one. So think about email servers, and you will have a rough view of how it works. Difference is, messages are signed, so spam can be dealt with very easily.

The easiest one would definitely be DDoS.
