At Mic, Product and Engineering is one lean team of 19 people. We pride ourselves on constantly shipping the best products in media. Our culture is centered around allowing every team member to influence the products we build, especially our engineers. Responsibilities:
Own how we collect, analyze, save and query data
Work across a variety of teams at Mic to understand data needs, including but not limited to our editorial analytics team, sales team and product managers
Improve how we reason with data in all phases of developing a product - from setting requirements to implementation
Contribute to all stages of our data platform - designing, building and launching new data initiatives
Support and develop our existing platform:
We collect and process over 300 million data points each month, using keen.io, AWS S3, AWS Redshift, AWS Lambda & MySql
Who you are:
3+ years of experience in a data engineering role
Expert level experience with AWS Redshift or similar
Proficient in relational databases
Able to analyze data by identifying gaps and inconsistencies
Obsessed with data integrity
Possess excellent communication skills, especially surrounding data driven insights
Able to work both individually and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with social networks and their APIs a plus
Experience with NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc), infrastructure setup and management
