I work as a multi lingual code wranger officially dubbed software engineer at Kanzu Code . I love nature and taking hikes often trespassing into woodlands and parks. Somehow I always find the best places that way. It’s even more awesome that I get to take my laptop and work in the midst of beautiful landscapes and awe inspiring creation.

WordPress Origin Story

I first started using WordPress in 2015 somewhere around the middle. My first job after college was and still is with a company called Kanzu Code, a Uganda based start up looking to change the digital landscape in Africa by basically raising the bar in all our products. One of my first assignments was to clean up a custom WordPress theme and basically I had to start from scratch.
After a couple of months I started to get the hang of how themes worked and how to build them. It was challenging because it was like I was dropped in the middle of the Sahara with one water bottle and Google but looking back it was an awesome way to learn.
Right now I’m catching the open source contribution bug and loving it.
