Our Custom Mac Pro Solution

We’ve designed a custom-manufactured chassis and sled system that fits a pair of Mac Pro servers in a standard rack while providing for easy access. Fiber channel adapters provide connectivity to gigabit ethernet alongside fiber channel SAN storage. This design also allows us to secure private cloud environments in locked rack and cage units for security-conscious customers to know their data secure.

We recently acquired Macminicolo (read about it here) and that means more locations for hosting Mac servers around the world. While we continue bringing Macminicolo on board, you can't order servers there, yet. What you can do is head to our data centers page to learn more or head to Macminicolo directly. We'll be sure to keep you updated as we make more changes and Las Vegas becomes available for Mac hosting at MacStadium.

What are the graphics (GPU) capabilities of the Mac Pro?

The standard Mac Pro servers that we order include the dual AMD FirePro D300 graphics processors. For customers that need the more powerful D500 or D700 GPUs in a hosted Mac Pro, we can custom order one or more Mac Pro servers to fit those specifications.

Every Mac server in MacStadium includes a GPU dongle in the HDMI port to trick the GPU into believing there is a display attached. This is beneficial if you are interested in using the Mac Pro as a virtual desktop. By default, we provide a dongle that supports 1080p at 30hz. We can custom order dongles that support 4k at 30hz if that is a requirement for your hosted Mac.
