  11. Our Malawi bike ride saw 14 cyclists cycle across Malawi and visit villages and health centres where we work

  12. Our annual Muffins for Midwives campaign raised an incredible £8,147 in 2016 - enough to train 2 midwives

  13. Our first baby, Nelson Junior, was born at the new Maternity Centre in Uganda weighing 3.4kg

  14. In 2016 the building of our Maternity Centre in Kiryabutuzi, Uganda was completed.

  15. Our appeal for donations to fill a 40 foot container to Malawi received £25,000 worth of donated items in 4 weeks!

  16. Lensa, our first ever student midwife, graduated earlier this summer, finishing 3rd in her cohort.

  17. We have trained 24 skilled birth attendants in Malawi, which means fully trained staff able to assist safe childbirth.

  18. We have trained 67 Health Surveillance Assistants to provide maternal and newborn health information in villages.

  19. Our first batch of 375 seed funds was repaid in full within 4 months and has already been re-loaned to 1,006 new women.
