    The irony of someone in US whose economy was based on slavery, denied black people democratic rights into 1970s, still has huge issues of structural racism & a President who promotes white supremacy & walls/fences lecturing anyone especially Germany who took 1million refugees

    Must have been an "awkward" moment for Angela Merkel to sit in ceremony as the Allies commemorated D-Day that broke the back of Nazi Germany.

    2000 African Americans were part of the D Day landings but were never acknowledged. They could fight, bleed & die for the US flag but for the next 4 decades were denied basic human rights simply because of the colour of their skin.

    On 75th anniversary of WWII it's worth remembering that 5 million black/brown citizens of the British empire fought for the 'motherland' including 2 million from S Asia. Plus 1 million African Americans. They faced racism, segregation & were denied democratic rights.

    Great to see old friends from on yesterday’s protest against Trump 👏🏾👏🏾

    Today's protest brought together many who are utterly opposed to Trump's politics of climate change denial, bigotry and hate. I'm proud was there to show we will resist and fight for a fairer and greener world we urgently need.

    Couldn’t agree with more. Those right wing journalists who love rushing to defend trump from charges of racism might want to wonder why every non white person knows with every atom of their body that Trump is an orange version of Enoch Powell.
