There is a conflict between sight and insight. Eyesight makes a person feel so confident that he/she often misses the details. We need to mind's eyes to enjoy the details what is right in front of us. The mind's eye opens only when the fleshy eyes are closed. Vision is more important than visibility. So the words like 'see', 'look', 'notice' are almost always counterbalanced by the words like 'seem", 'appear', 'guess', 'doubt' etc. If we take into account only those things which influence our sense organs other than the eyes the real appearance will be revealed. I think, the more blindness is stressed, the more inner light is revealed and that comes in torrents.
Well, it often happens that the people with good eyesight fail to see what is right in front of them. They have too much to take in, I suppose.
