At 23rd August of 1998, the sitcom "That '70s Show" premiered on FOX. The series focused on the lives of a group of teenage friends living in the fictional suburban town of Point Place, Wisconsin, from May 17, 1976, to December 31, 1979. The main teenage cast members were Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon and Wilmer Valderrama. The main adult cast members were Debra Jo Rupp, Kurtwood Smith, Don Stark, Tommy Chong and Tanya Roberts. Over the course of its run, the series was nominated for a substantial number of awards, including 16 Primetime Emmy Awards. Over the course of its run, the series was a consistent performer for Fox, becoming one of their flagship shows.
"That '70s Show" is one of the best (and funniest) television sitcoms ever created. The series is a throwback sitcom which takes place in Wisconsin in 1976. The show focuses on Eric Forman (Topher Grace) and his friends as they grow up during the 70's. "That '70s Show" is a pop-culture bonanza filled with references to the decade and the culture prominent at that time. From vinyl records, to fashion, and even the opening of the original Star Wars.
Eric Forman's group of friends consists of Steven Hyde (Danny Masterson), Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon), Michael Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), Fez (Wilmer Valderrama), and Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis). Eric is essentially a nice nerdy guy: the geek of the group with the basement everyone hangs in. Hyde is Eric's best friend, the rebel of the group, and the most sarcastic of the bunch. Donna is smart, laidback, and a feminist. She is Eric's next-door-neighbor (and Eric's had a crush on her for years).
Michael is the dim-witted member of the group (with the best looks) and he is always getting into trouble with his girlfriend Jackie. Jackie is a spoiled, rich girl at the start of the series but over the course of the show she becomes a more developed character and becomes one of the sweeter members of the group. Fez is the foreign exchange student. No one can ever figure out what country he is from. He is the most rambunctious and downright silly member of the group.
Kitty Forman (Debra Jo Rupp) and Reginald "Red" Forman (Kurtwood Smith) are Eric's parents. Eric's sister is Laurie (Lisa Robin Kelly).Bob Pinciotti (Don Stark) and Midge Pinciotti (Tanya Roberts) are Donna's parents. The parents are such an integral part of "That '70s Show". Eric's parents are especially memorable: Red is always discovering new ways to yell at Eric while Kitty is a sweet and loving mother. Both characters are terrific fun and have great depth as the series developed.
Part of the reason That '70s Show became such a huge success was the terrific casting. The cast worked together wonderfully and each actor created a distinct and memorable character. The whole group of actors were terrific at the comedic elements while also excelling at the dramatic moments as the series developed. The cast always found ways to make the series laugh-out-loud hilarious.
The series grew over the course of its first season and found a great groove which carried on for many years. The series dropped in quality during the last few seasons of the show but was still entertaining and worthwhile. While most of the cast was still on the show, the series just wasn't the same without Ashton Kutcher and Topher Grace around as series regulars.
Grace's absence was especially a issue given that Eric was essentially the lead character of the show. Kutcher's absence was also strongly felt as he was also one of the funniest cast members. Even with Kutcher and Grace gone from the series, the show continued on and has a bittersweet and generally satisfying conclusion (with essential guest appearances).
The series received many nominations over its eight season run (including 16 Emmy Award Nominations). The show remains a hilarious, entertaining, and creative gem which fans will continue to appreciate for decades to come.

At 26th August of 1996, the TV series "Malcolm & Eddie" premiered on UPN. "Malcolm & Eddie" is an American television sitcom that premiered August 26, 1996 on UPN, and ran for four seasons, airing its final episode on May 22, 2000. This series starred Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Eddie Griffin in the lead roles. The program was produced by Jeff Franklin Productions in association with TriStar Television in its first three seasons and by Columbia TriStar Television in its final season.
Bright and energetic comedian Eddie Griffin, at one time named "the king of hip-hop stand-ups," won over a large audience with his straight-talking comedy routines, but reached even more people as an actor, excelling especially in comedic roles, but proving more than capable of dramatic fare as well.
As star of "Malcolm & Eddie," one of UPN's most successful and long-running sitcoms, Griffin was able to try his hand at other facets of the entertainment industry, serving as writer, producer and director of select episodes, as well as co-writing the theme song with co-star and former "Cosby" kid Malcolm-Jamal Warner. The series also occasionally showcased Griffin's choreography, harkening back to his pre-comedy dance career.
Malcolm McGee (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) is a responsible and sensible 20-something who ends up sharing a Kansas City apartment and a business venture with relentlessly enthusiastic tow truck owner Eddie Sherman (Eddie Griffin). A fast talker with outlandish frenetic energy, Eddie's charming schemes always seems to get the two into hot water.
But no matter what the situation, these opposites always end up bailing each other out, even if they drive each other crazy. When the guys unexpectedly became recipients of a considerable sum of money, Malcolm and Eddie decided to buy not only the old Irish pub below their apartment, but the entire building, including Eddie's garage, as an investment. As new bar owners, the guys gave the place a facelift by turning it into a sports bar and renaming it McGee's.
There, they hang out with local regulars, including Tim (Jaime Cardriche), a gentle giant working as a male nurse, and Nicolette (Karen Malina White), the motor-mouth police academy cadet with a love-crazed obsession for Eddie. As Malcolm manages McGee's and Eddie tries to bolster his fledging one-man/one-truck towing operation into a fleet, success for these two could be as simple as staying out of trouble.
We can thank "Full House" creator Jeff Franklin his producing duties on Malcolm and Eddie, a show proving that opposites do attract. The two friends would wrestle almost everything from winning the lottery to mastering pool with the late Richard Pryor. At the time, comedy duos relating to a younger audience were few and far in between, but their chemistry was almost organic as they threw jokes and insane scenarios back and forth.
