That's the difference between a responsible business leader and a career politician.
As a responsible business leader you have to be someone who is actually working to accomplish goals, someone who makes the hard decisions in order to DO THE RIGHT THING, someone who has to foster and actually achieve tangible results and someone who understands that the buck stops with the person at the top, who makes the hard decisions. Most business people are not trained to be polished and smooth-tongued in the face of the media, so what you see is usually pretty much what you get.
A Career politician is someone who is trained to lie, someone who is trained to shirk responsibility, someone who is trained in the art of smoke-&-mirrors wherein the goal is to pull the wool over the eyes of the public, someone who can effectively smoosh, wheel-and-deal with unsavory types who can advance their career, and someone who has developed the craft of covering their own ass at the expense of others. They never have to show results, they only need to BS.their way out of the lack of results because their priority is to protect their career. They never make any hard decisions that could adversely affect them as their priority is to protect their career. They can never take responsibility for anything because their priority is to protect their career.
As a politician, one of the key, paramount prerequisites is that the person has to be inherently, and trained to be, slick-tongued, polished and preened for the media and the camera lens. With a politician, you can be most assured that whatever impression you are given is that of the candy-coated, white-washed, obsessively scripted, heavily orchestrated, heavily rehearsed projection of what they think you would want to believe them to be.
A POLITICIAN COULDN'T EVEN COMPREHEND WHAT IT MEANS TO DO THE RIGHT THING IF THERE IS THE POTENTIAL OF IT HURTING THEIR POLITICAL CAREER!
That is why people like #Senator #Dan #Sullivan always end up focusing on whether or not something is a smart political move. It is the first thing someone like this senator considers before making a decision.
#Jeff #Sessions has proven himself to be an utter and complete failure. And President Donald Trump did not hesitate to state the fact that he made a bad choice for A.G. Because he is not in fear of a political career, he demonstrates that he is freely willing to take responsibility for having made a bad decision. The career politician sees that kind of candor as blasphemy and disloyalty.
