This article will show you how to connect a domain name already registered with Hover.com to your Format site.

Hover.com - Sign In

Go to Hover.com

Sign in to your account

Enter your Hover.com Username and Password.

Click the SIGN IN button.

If you have more than one domain name registered with Hover.com, select the one you want to connect to your Format site.

Click the NEW CONNECT tab and you will see details for Format.

Click the GET STARTED button.

If you are unsure of your Format Address click Where do I find this?

In this example we are using tyler as the Format Address

Format.com - Confirm your Format Address Settings

LOG IN to your Format Account.

Click Settings > Domain Settings.

The Format Address is the subdomain your site has on Format.com. This is the address you'll use to view your portfolio. If you have a connected domain, your subdomain address is still valid, and will simply redirect visitors to your custom domain (hiding the 'format.com' at the end in the browser address area).

If you haven't already set, enter a Format Address and Save and return to Hover.com

Enter your Format Address and click CONNECT

If entered correctly you will see a green CONNECTED button

Hover.com - Confirm DNS Settings

To confirm click the DNS tab.

You will see an entry at the bottom showing www CNAME and your Format Address now connected to format.com as shown above.

You are done!

Wait 48 Hours

Changes to your domain name usually take a few hours to propagate across the internet. In some cases it can take up to 48 hours.

If you have tried the steps above and are still unable to view your Format portfolio site using your domain name after 48 hours please send us a Domain Help Request (you need to be logged in to your Format account for the link to work).
