Add a Title Page

This article will show you how to add a Title Page (or splash page) to your Format site.

Log in > Pages

Log in to your Format site.

Click Pages

Create New

Click Create New

Title

Click TItle

Title Pages

Click on a template that you are interested in.

(Note: You can click Filters to filter the selection.)

Template Preview

The Template Preview will pop up and give you the template's name and an overview of the template's features. (This template's name is 'Title 1')

Click Use This Template

Replace Background

Click the background image and then click Replace Background.

Upload or Import

You can Upload images from your computer or Import them from another page on your Format site.

Let's click Upload.

Browse and Upload

Browse to the image on your computer and select your image.

Click Open.

(Note: We recommend uploading images with dimensions of a least 1200 x 1600 pixels. You can upload images up to 20MB in size each.)

Uploader

Your images will start uploading. Once the upload is complete you will be taken back to the page.

Select Text

You can see the uploaded image has been applied to the background.

Click the text box in the foreground.

Select the placeholder text and add your own text.

Link

Since this is a splash page you need to add a link to your site.

With the text box still selected, click the link button.

Create a Link

  • Choose Page
  • Select Work (or whichever page you like).
  • Click Create
Settings

Click Settings (under the page's title).

Settings

  • Add a Title
  • Add a URL
  • Click Make this my homepage

(Note: We also want to leave Hide set to ON. This way the splash page will appear when visitors first come to your site but it won't appear on your site menu.)

Click Save

Save Changes

Click Save Changes.

You can have a look at the result here: mysite.format.com
