Listing Pages

This article will show you how to use a Listing Page.

Intro

A Listing Page allows you to create a page with thumbnail images that can be linked to other pages.

Many people use Listing Pages as their homepage to provide a visual link to their Gallery Pages. We will show you how to do that.

Let's get started!

Log In > Pages

Log in to your Format account.

Click Pages from your Dashboard.

Create New Page

You can see that we have a few Gallery Pages. We're going to link to these using a Listing Page.

Click Create New

New Page Added

You can see the new page has been added to the left sidebar.

On the right you can edit the page's content and settings.

Select the page's default title and add your own title.

(Note: New pages are hidden by default. We will first add our content then make the page visible.)

Add Linked image

Click Add Item

Click Linked Image

Add Image

The new Linked Image element has been added below.

Click Add Image.

Import

You can Upload an image from your computer or Import an image from one of your Gallery Pages.

Let's use an image from our Gallery Page.

Click Import

(Note: Linked Images display thumbnails with fixed aspect ratios, so an Imported image may be cropped. If you want more control over how your thumbnails look you can create images specifically to use as thumbnails and Upload them from your computer.)

Choose Gallery Page

Let's add an image from our first Gallery Page: Forest.

Click the Gallery Page with the image you want to use.

Choose Image

Click the image you want to use for your thumnbail.

Image Added

You can see the image has been added to the Linked Image element.

Now let's add a title.

Click Add a title.

Add Title

Type in a title for your Linked Image.

Now let's add a link.

Click Link to a page

Click Choose a Page

We're going to link to a Gallery Page (rather than an external website).

Keep Page selected at the top.

Click Choose a page

Click the Page you want to link to.

Link

Click Link

Linked Image

The Linked Image element now has:

  • a thumbnail image
  • a title
  • a link

It's done!

Create Linked Images for the rest of your Gallery Pages.

Settings

Now we need to adjust some settings for our page.

Click Settings

URL/Homepage/Hide

  • URL: This is the URL that will display for your page
  • Homepage: You can make the page the first page that visitors see when they access your site
  • Hide: Set Hide to 'OFF' to make your page visble on your site menu

Add your settings and click Save.

Drag to top

This is going to be the home page so we want it to be first on our site menu.

On the left sidebar click and drag the page to the top.

Live Site

This is how the Listing Page looks on the live site.
