Sharing anonymized data from your ecobee can help scientists advance the way to a sustainable future.
Why are we building this program and asking you to join us?
Heating and cooling accounts for up to 50% of home energy use and over half of it is going to waste, as many people heat and cool their homes when they're not there to enjoy it. That means wasted energy resources, more greenhouse gas emissions and pollution.
We want to help solve that. In fact, helping people live comfortably, while using less energy, is why ecobee was founded.
That’s also why we’ve created Donate Your Data. It’s a first-of-its-kind initiative, made possible by today’s connected world. When you join our program, you’ll share insights from your ecobee with North America's leading energy scientists, giving them the real-life data they need to design more efficient and sustainable homes and communities.
With one click you can give scientists greater insight, expanding the breadth of their studies from dozens of homes to hundreds of thousands.
Climate change is one of the most serious challenges facing us today. We all want to do our part, yet none of us can solve this alone.
Scientists around the globe are working with government, businesses and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to help design better buildings, technologies and programs to reduce our energy consumption. To be accurate, these studies need to reflect real-life home energy usage. Unfortunately that data can be expensive, time-consuming and often difficult to access.
