We were fortunate today to have a visit today from the Canadian Ambassador to Israel, Deborah Lyons. Ambassador Lyons spoke separately with our Grade 11 and Grade 12 students. She gave a wonderful presentation and answered so many questions! Thanks to the

After 75 minutes ‘exploring’ in our groups we met back at the Central Plaza - not surprising to have a Church in the background. It is ‘muy caliente’ today - which basically means SPF 100+ will not do! Lunch now then more ‘exploring’ (code for shopping...I can’t take it...aiya!)

Random bus pic as we leave Panajachel on Lake Atitlan. I think our kids outdid themselves in their shopping - with much bargaining too. Tomorrow is our last day so I expect a few more Quetzales to find new homes.

Returning from San Pedro after lunch and shopping (and espresso). Time to lay back and enjoy the sun for the next hour. Buenas tardes King David!

Chabad lunch at the beautiful San Pedro on Lake Atitlan- after an hour boat ride. Such a gorgeous sun-screen needed day. Our first meat dish for those so inclined on this trip - I am so inclined. It looks awesome!

Visiting Lacustre Atitlan a museum of Mayan artifacts in beautiful Lake Atitlan about 2 hours from Project Somos. This is a sacred site and a lovely tourist town that I would love to visit.

So for your next woodwork sanding project we have a trained team. These are outside tables and need sanding and varnishing every year due to the hot sun. I know some of our kids wish they could return annually to do it!

Here is the view the kids from the deck at Project Somos. It is even better in the morning before the afternoon haze and ash from the volcano settles over the valley blocking the view of 4 volcanoes. And at night, the stars they are so very bright illuminating the entire sky 🌎

A little break on the deck after lunch before the final work shift of this trip begins. I will text the view they have from their seats next. It is incredibly special, add in the warmth of the sun and great company - it is a perfect lead into our community Shabbat.

It is too bad that we use drywall at home and do not make walls from cement and plastic dirt and garbage filled bottles - we have some experts whose skills may end up going to waste. This is hard work and apparently fun!
