One of the odd things about making tv is when you hear a song on another show that you used on one of your shows and it yanks you immediately out of the moment and into forced nostalgia. (This just happened for me with the Maisel finale and Smash)

Really fucked over by @British_Airways. Our planned 12hr journey has now turned into 3 planes, 17hrs flight time + 12 combined layover hours in 3 different airports in 3 different countries. This shit happens; this one just felt like it didn’t need to.

Also with the passing of the decades I came to it without the era’s Barbra baggage; the film is immaculately directed, photographed, acted. (Mandy would win an Oscar today). The only flaw is the overabundance of music, but it is easily forgiven.

Just saw Yentl in a cinema in Paris and was sobbing by the end. Not just thinking of my grandparents and my mother’s journey here, but also for what has to be one of the most accurate depictions of life in the closet that I’ve ever seen.

I’m supposed to see a 7hr play tomorrow that I’ve heard both extreme love and deep dislike over. I have so much work to do. If anyone on here wants to weigh in...
