Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowable under United States tax law as a charitable contribution to the Open Homes Fund, located at PayPal Giving Fund, a 501(c)(3) charity. The Open Homes Fund provides financial support to nonprofits who connect people in need with temporary housing.
Can I change my donation amount after I opt in?
Yes. You can change, pause or opt out of donating any time from your Host Dashboard. You’ll be able to change the donation amount until the reservation payout has been initiated by Airbnb, generally one day after guest checkout.
Which nonprofits will receive my donation?
Your donation will support nonprofit partners who are connecting people traveling for reasons related to medical treatment, respite, conflict, or disaster with temporary housing. We work with trusted organizations who are world-renowned experts in their fields, including the International Rescue Committee, All Hands and Hearts Smart Response, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Mercy Corps. How does my donation help provide stays for people in need?
Costs can be a barrier to accessing emergency housing. And while our Open Homes platform has already connected over 20,000 people with free, temporary accommodations, there are millions more people in the world who have been displaced from their homes or need to travel for medical needs. By donating, you’re helping our community partners provide even more temporary housing at no cost to the people who need it most.
How can I get updates about my donation?
You’ll be able to see how much you’ve donated in your Host Dashboard, which you can access at any time by going to airbnb.com/hosting. In addition, we’ll provide periodic email updates on your impact, including an annual donations report.

If you’re a host in the United States, you can start donating today. We hope to make donations available internationally and to all members of the Airbnb community in the near future.
