you need to climb way more to see improvement.

i got to v8 just climbing regularly at the gym and outside, 3x per week for 2-3 hours. Most serious climbers are climbing much more than that.

But ask yourself if you really care about ticking harder grades. Sometimes its just nice not to have to be hardcore devoted to something, and just have fun with it. Your choice.

you could get a 16-35 f/4 from canon and then a tamron 24-70 and still be less than the canon 24-70.
