Holy shit this game is amazing. I love it already. I've played NV, 4, and 76 but I honestly think Fallout 3 is already my favourite. Wish I had started it sooner!
Anyone have any tips for me? Playing a pretty much bind playthrough so anything is appreciated!

Variety Magazine interviewed Todd Howard, Pete Hines, and the founding members of Copilot Music + Sound regarding the production of the song on July 31, 2018.
“To pay homage to both the game’s legacy and “Fallout 76”’s West Virginia setting, Bethesda’s game director Todd Howard commissioned New York-based music content and strategy firm Copilot Music + Sound to craft an Ink Spots-like take on “Take Me Home, Country Roads” that could accompany the new title’s trailer.
“One of the early challenges as an arranger was, ‘How do you keep the song intact, which is very straight ahead harmonically and thematically, and somehow get it to meet in the middle with the jazz harmony and the swing feel of that earlier music?” says Copilot co-founder Ravi Krishnaswami. “We tried to create something that felt not only like two great musical traditions smashed together, but a cohesive piece of music that stands on its own.”
To bring the essence of the Ink Spots to life, Copilot co-founder Jason Menkes tapped New York City vocal group Spank to take a crack at merging the musical worlds of ‘30s doo-wop and ‘70s country.
Ever since the moment I first met Mayor Sheriff Lucas Simms back in FO3, I've been a shameless, mindless save scummer. I've always "role played" a high charisma, good karma character and I could never accept failing a speech check. I used to mainly play a stealthy character as well, and likewise couldn't allow myself to clear a dungeon/vault/area without all stealth kills. I would save after each individual kill and reload if I was discovered. I was a cretin. I didn't start meta gaming until probably my second playthrough of 3. But from then on, including first playthrough of all subsequent games, I couldn't even spec my SPECIAL stats without hitting the forums and wikis to see what the current "ideal" builds were, what weapons/armor I planned to beeline it for as soon as the tutorial portion was over, the best way(s) to get them, and how to power level/farm valuables.
Fallout 76 completely broke me of both of these habits by making me play without them. I haven't honestly paid much of it mostly due to the bugginess, but it shone a big, bright spotlight of shame on these two practices that I'd never realized I was abusing so much. I was denying myself any sort of meaningful role play, and as of right now, that's over. I'm revisiting FO4 and refuse to do any of the following:
Save scumming of any sort. Only manual saves will be in cases like, "you know, if I die right now I'm gonna have to walk 10 minutes again to get where I am, I oughta save real quick"
Cheese big XP providing encounters early on for easy leveling (there's a few ways I've discovered to cheese the fight with Swan... To the point that I've killed him with exclusively a pipe pistol)... None of that!
Farm anything (can you even still farm legendaries or have they patched all the old ways out? - nevermind don't tell me!)
Go directly to the railroad, do the minimum necessary quests for the ballistic weave schematic, then weave the shit out of my underclothes and hat
Go from there to Bunker Hill for the Spray n Pray
From time to time Bethesda has taken mods from previous games and either more or less copied that mod into a new game or did a take on a popular mod.
What Fallout 4 Mods would you like to see turned into Fallout 5 features?
For myself?
SIM Settlement. This mod is robust as Hell and it made some settlements infinitely funner to build up. This was such an obvious next step in settlement building that I'd honestly be surprised and disappointed if Bethesda doesn't do their own variation on this.
CROSS Pre-War Cybernetics. I'm a sucker for evolving my character through any play through. Scars, burns, milky eyes, new hair styles. And for the most part vanilla Skyrim and Fallout 4 allowed for me to change my cosmetics to visually tell the story of my character. But this mod allows me to lose an arm, maybe a leg, perhaps they've broken their back, or all the above. I'd love the option to get prosthetic limbs.
Visible Weapons. Please. Just bring that back. I hate that weapons disappear when I lower them. It's so dumb.
In certain terminals, there is a database connection that ties to the US government. The database starts off offline, and it only comes online when the BOS show up and immediately deleted the entire thing with a message that its for our safety.
So whats in the database?
Its found in innocent places like Corvega, etc for little or no reason.
And by the way, does anyone else feels the BOS needs to fuck off? Like forever?
every installment since Fo1 they just show up and scrub the most important data before the player can even see it. Every time.
