After spending a few months trying to find the right first bike, I finally picked up the Specialized Allez Sport last week and took it out for a nice 10 mile ride this morning! Couldn’t be happier!

Fairly new rider here and I’m looking for a device that can track all my rides! My phones a little beat up so I want to get something to mount to my bars that’s a little better. What do you guys use and recommend?

Hi,

I am planning to buy a hardtail MTB for the daily commute (total = 32 km). Question: what are the must-have bike accessories for the daily commute?

my current list is:

  1. bell

  2. reflector

  3. detachable mudguard

  4. lights (front & rear)

I want to use the bike in summer and winter (snow).

Titles says it already, what are general rules or habits you would have loved to know as a total greenhorn (what I am)?

I' just came back from a ride where a rsndom cyclist stayed behind me for like 30min wirhout talkkung or changing position... so I'm curious about "cyclist code of conducts"

Was finishing my morning ride on my hill climb and a car ran me into the gutter. As you know my right foot hit the curb and I fell as I couldn’t clip out fast enough now my bikes paint is damaged! (Am a new rider to clip-less pedals so that could have been a factor) I hope everyone else’s rides went well tho!

Hey there,

I haven't been on my trainer for a while and it's time to get back to it. I like Sufferfest, but lately I've also liked the extra metrics that come from Garmin when I use my bike computer (an Edge 530).

I know you can use the Garmin in Indoor Ride mode and GPS is turned off, and I've been using that to track what's going on. However, because Garmin uploads to Strava and Sufferfest uploads to Strava, I'm getting duplicate entries because Strava doesn't handle correlated times for activities or anything like that.

What do you do to avoid that? I know I could just skip using my Garmin, but Connect is where I do a lot of my tracking, so what I've been doing right now is just deleting the duplicate Strava activity after upload. Only costs a few seconds, but who knows if there is a more elegant solution.

Thanks!

So, I recently got a bike again for the first time in adulthood (and first time since I was like, 10). As such, I'm pretty wobbly and not confident in my riding right now, and ideally would be able to practice around my neighborhood before going on any actual rides.

However, my neighborhood has narrow streets with street parking on either side. It isn't super highly trafficked, but because of the awkwardness of the road and the lack of a bike lane I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be biking on the sidewalk or just in the middle of the road. Any input is appreciated!
