As I'm sure you know, r/baseball has a tradition every year during the offseason where they go through all 30 teams and have a day of toasts and roasts. Each team sub is responsible for providing the mods over there with a sidebar image and a full post of whatever we want to highlight from the 2019 season that will be stickied on the sub for the day.
The AL East toasts and roasts happen between January 27th and 31st.
This post is for everyone here to have a say in what we post. Give me your favorite highlights, reminisce on your favorite memes or events of 2019 related to the team, and just anything else about our team this year you think deserves to be shouted out. Provide links for any relevant highlights so I don't have to go searching for them.
If you want to see last year's post for inspiration, here it is. I wrote it up last minute last year myself because we didn't really have a post ready to go. I'd like to change that this year.
Hi, everyone! I hope you are all well. I just received word from Group Sales yesterday about the pricing changes for this season as well as when our early ticket access window closes, and unfortunately for me, it closes on November 26. So I need to figure out what the hell we're doing right fucking now, lol.
I've drawn up the second poll and it's right here. Please fill it out as soon as you possibly can. Here is what it asks:
Which games can you attend? I've narrowed the list down to the top ten (there were quite a few ties). Please check off any one you could reasonably get to.
Of those games that you chose, which one would be your first choice? PLEASE make sure to take pricing into account. To help with those decisions, I've included the tier for each game along with the lowest ticket price available for that game. I know they're more expensive every year. It sucks. I wish I could change it, but I can't, so please don't come after me for how expensive these games are. These are the ones that were voted on. ALSO, in the interest of transparency, Yankees games are possibly out of the realm of possibility for us. I'm including them because I know they're popular and of course it would be a dream, but they would be A) very expensive and B) hard for Group Sales to guarantee to us. So please don't yell at me if I can't make it happen.
Which of the games is your second choice? Again, please consider pricing as well.
Which of the games is your third choice? Again, please consider pricing as well.
Would you be interested in a meetup at McCoy Stadium in its final year? There was 100% interest in multiple meetups, but there was concern about pricing. I thought a good compromise might be making the second game a PawSox game, especially as this is their final year at McCoy. Tickets for such a game would be well under $20. Be honest about whether or not you would go- it will determine whether or not I pursue it for all of us! I personally think it would be super fun, but it's not for me to decide. :)
Your email address. Like I usually say, you can give me a separate email address if you prefer to keep more anonymous in that way, but please make sure it's a separate/anonymous email address that you will actually check. It is WAY harder to get a hold of people in the offseason and this is a huge help to me to be able to batch email all of you at once. Thank you in advance for your understanding. :)
Once I've got this data, I can pinpoint our top few choices and relay that info to Group Sales so they can try to find us some inventory and reserve our spots before anyone else. The perks of being a repeat customer. :) I'm really under the gun here with how quickly this is going to have to move, so I'm going to tentatively say that this poll will close November 25. I know it's not a lot of time. Were it up to me, I would have a lot more, but alas, I don't have that kind of control over the situation. Fill this out as soon as you can (preferably now since you're already here reading this), keep your eyes peeled for an email/post about ticket signups, and start getting hyped for another awesome day together! Here's the link one more time for good measure. Go, go, go! Love you! <3
John Henry says to you "Mookie's gotta be traded, but you get to choose where he goes."
Based solely on the uniform he'd be wearing (and not the actual return of the trade), where would you send him?
