#travel #camp 😎 "As the sun sets, the stars come out and play. " Spent the night in 25 degree weather at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. Imagine of winter wonderland except instead of snow, there is beautiful White Sands everywhere made out of gypsum, which is relatively cool to the touch during the summer time and doesn't stick to your body. We camped in the backcountry, which was only $3 per person not including the $5 entry fee. Since there are only 10 spots, I recommend getting there early. It's about a 1 miles hooked from they parking lot to the camp site, which is a bit challenging bc of the sand dunes as well as the higher altitude. Incredible views of gorgeous white sands and purple mountains in the horizon. As the sun bid us goodnight, I was stunned by the sheer number of stars.
