Ask your Google Assistant on Google Home/Mini/Max to play your favorite shows on HBO NOW, CBS All Access, The CW

HBO Now and CBS All Access have both landed on Google Home in the past couple of months, adding to the already available Netflix support. Both of those require that you manually link your accounts to get things working, but The CW doesn’t require an account at all.

To cast content from The CW, simply ask Assistant on your phone or Google Home to play a specific show from the network. That might include “Arrow,” “The Flash,” or others like “Riverdale.”

Play some of your favorite shows and movies from subscription services like HBO NOW, CBS All Access and The CW. You can also cast from eligible Android phones and iPhones. Just start by saying, “Ok Google” or “Hey Google”:

- "Watch Curb Your Enthusiasm"
- “Play Star Trek: Discovery”
- “Turn the volume down”
- “Go back 30 seconds”
- “Play Riverdale”

So the next time your hands are full with popcorn, go ahead and forget the remote. Just say, “Hey Google,” sit back and enjoy.

Cast content from CBS All Access and CWTV to your TV using Google Home

One of the best features of Google Home is its ability to cast content to a nearby screen or speaker from a selection of different services. With the addition of
CBS All Access, Google Home users have the option to watch shows from CBS and the CW through CBS All Access and CWTV, respectively. It seems, support for CWTV is very limited, with folks only able to play the latest aired episode and not able to issue next or previous episode commands. You also cannot turn dubbing on or off and play the next unplayed episode, though this all could change with an update.

To make this new feature work, follow the walkthrough below to connect Google Assistant to your CBS account.

How to link your CBS All Access account to Google Home:

1. Launch the Home application

2. Tap on the hamburger menu on the top left corner of the display

3. Under the Google Assistant subheading, select More settings

4. Scroll down and tap on Videos and Photos

5. Under videos, you should see options to link both your Netflix and CBS accounts. Select Link under the CBS section

6. A pop-up will appear asking for verification to link accounts and enable voice control. Tap on Link Account

7. You will be taken to CBS’s website where you will need to sign into your All Access account

8. Once signed in, you will be taken back to the Home application. You will know if it was successful if the button under CBS now reads as Unlink

9. You can now cast content from CBS All Access using Google Home and Assistant
