Google rolling out new "Add-Ons" for Gmail!

Rather than toggling between your inbox and other apps, use add-ons to complete actions right from Gmail. With Gmail Add-ons, your inbox can contextually surface your go-to app based on messages you receive to help you get things done faster. And because add-ons work the same across web and Android, you only need to install them once to access them on all of your devices. Click the settings wheel on the top right of your inbox and then “Get add-ons” to get started.

Let us know in the comments which ones you might use. I wonder if these are going to replace gmail "Labs"?

The Fall Creators Update (Feature Update 1709) was rolled out on two of my Windows 10 virtual machines at Work today. This was a big update and both machines were updating for 1-2 hours.

Fortunately, I had another Windows 7 virtual machine that I could connect to while these Windows 10 machines were being updated. Also, I was able to keep working using my Chromium OS Desktop to check e-mail (web-based) and work on documents (OnlyOffice).

I know it's probably not fair comparison, but updates do feel rather seamless on other platforms such as Chrome OS / Chromium OS.

Is it possible to cast (or mirror) my Android device screen to a Chromebook?

I can see apps and articles for casting to other devices but couldn't find anything about casting to a Chromebook.

Thanks

Is there a live boot USB function for Ubuntu or Linux on a chromebook? That would be a killer function. What if it went on a micro-SD card? How awesome would that be? Just wondering...and hoping!

The Chromebook is more popular than ever and this article explains why.

So looking to get back into chromebooking! New word. :) Anyway, I need a secondary laptop for research, media, couch potatoe'in! I have watched a ton of reviews, thanks to a few = +Chrome Unboxed,+Lon.TV & +Mark Borison just to name a few. Great work you guys!

I am looking for a 13" mid-range @ $500 or so. My picks so far as follows. I really want to make sure the keyboard and trackpad are key. My work horse is a MacBook so I want it comparable! :)

- HP ChromeBook 13 G1
- Asus ChromeBook C302
- Samsung Chrome Plus/Pro

I would say I am leaning towards the C302 based on the raves of the keyboard. Am I on point here or am I missing another one that I should look into in my price range? Thanks all for any input I much appreciate it.
