I have been receiving the Jewish News for decades and always look forward to receiving each issue (and also viewing on-line). It is such a wonderful way to keep up with local and international Jewish ...events and the articles are so very interesting. The Jewish News has also helped me re-connect with my local Jewish friends from over 45 years ago through attendance at the events publicized. The Editor, Terri Denison, is to be commended for the professional way she formats and edits each issue which produces a publication that is very enjoyable to read. Many thanks! Se mer

As we prepare to celebrate Israel Fest: Celebrating Israel’s 70th Independence Day at the JCC (Sunday, April 22, 11 am - 4 pm), be sure to read the latest issue... of Jewish News for a story by Bobbie Fisher about what was taking place in Jewish Tidewater 70 years ago.

Bootie Friedman’s father, David, was a Zionist leader in our community back in 1948, raising money and awareness of the need for a Jewish state in Palestine. Bootie (real name Harold) remembers those heady times, including when Golda Meir and Abba Eban and others came to Norfolk to help make the case for support.
