    February 1: 1998: Susan Brouk, 36 and her two children, Adrian, 12 and Kyle, 9, were killed and thrown in a pond near their Maries County, MO home. Mark Christeson and Jessie Carter were both convicted. Carter was sentenced to LWOP. Christeson was executed on 1/31/2017.

    February 3: 1979: 8-year-old Victoria Ann DeSantiago was kidnapped on her way to 7-11 near Belmont and First St. in Fresno, CA. Her body was found 3 days later in an irrigation canal near Clovis. Fernando Eros Caro was charged with her murder. He was already on death row for 3 other murders and was suspected of others. He died on death row in January 2017.
