Greg Maxwell originally came up with the concept of segregated witness.
@LukeDashjr came up with the way to implement it as a soft fork.
The idea of using the introduction of segwit to add script versions was by @TheBlueMatt.
And all of us build on top of many others' ideas.

Interesting idea though it gets complicated by the fact that tether can be frozen and destroyed by the issuer for any arbitrary reason.

It's probably safe to say that the majority of renowned thinkers throughout history were immoral by today's standards. Many of the Founding Fathers were hypocritical slave owners, but that doesn't invalidate all of their ideas.

Also, when it comes to 51% attacks there's not much to do proactively. Countermeasures would be reactive and dependent upon the specifics of the attack.

You have to weigh the cost of the attack against the reward. This attack is only even plausible for a nation state that can burn money. Even then, it's not plausible that a nation state could track down the equipment. More plausible for China to seize mining farms IMO.
