Long story behind B2104 Ersham rd crossing. Basically @esccroads resisted for years till we had visit from roads minister who said to Head of Transport "this road is awfully busy". Crossing was agreed the next week & built within 6 months! pic.twitter.com/9UfVkiizrj

This goes back to pre 2014 Cons-run Croydon council. @Phil_PJA was working on Biking Borough stuff & proposed separated tracks *inside* parking which were rejected based on (surprise) big objections by shopkeepers

One like that in Brighton has actually been cited as the cause of casualties as people try to vault it, fail (especially if drunk) & fall in front of cars/buses. Fortunately @BHCC_Transport start work soon to remove it as part of £8m #valleygardens scheme :-) pic.twitter.com/23kZZXpkGQ

Serious point to this story: why does it take @BrightonHoveCC up to *3 years* to remove clearly abandoned bikes? Even with @RecyclingRefuse notice of removal in 14 days (on 9 & 13 Feb), it took another *3 months* to do it - and they left 1! @danieljyates @Phelimmac @TonyJanio pic.twitter.com/B0ru1M67Iq
