Even those advocating entering the EEA were doing so with a list of caveats, opt outs, new rules, and with a customs union. The fact they want a deal different to th EEA means they, too, want a bespoke deal.

By a majority of 2:1, Labour MPs reject EEA. Now hopefully we can put that to bed and move on with getting the right deal not a 20 year old Norwegian deal.

What is clear - and I am sure the numbers will show - a clear majority of Labour MPs will not support the EEA. It’s the wrong model for the UK.
