This is what happened. Media manipulation as sinister and brazen as Trump’s. in Belfast.

This is a problem for lots of reason. It is also a result of Alan Kelly's social housing strategy from when he was Minister, which planned for the majority of social housing to be come from private market through HAP, not from public building.

Media barred from main session of this year's hosted by Dept of Social Protection for the FIRST time ever since the late Seamus Brennan started them in 2004. Shocked. What is the Dept afraid we'll hear? Attitude of press office was pretty arrogant too.

Amazing to think that this is all utterly avoidable. Other countries are getting on with life... and we’re dragging ourselves into a WWII re-enactment out of nothing but our own volition.

May’s speech today completely fails to understand a key point of GFA and border - parity of esteem. GFA ended the ‘British as Finchley’ position. Accepted Irish identity as equal. Border runs through communities who overwhelming self-identify as Irish. This - not trade - is key.

I have always tried to see Israel’s side, to afford it balance and recognise the fear it lives with from both its history and its geography. But this new law is beyond the Pale. This is an indefensible apartheid law; bottom line.

You're right. It could go on and on, causing yet more misery and enmity over time. All the more reason now to boycott next year's Eurovision song contest in Israel, whether they hold it in Haifa or Jerusalem.

Thinking about the fateful Israeli decision to define their state in racist-supremacist terms, I couldn't help but recall Sir James Craig's definition of Stormont as "a Protestant parliament for a Protestant people", and to hell with the Catholic Nationalist minority. Didn't work
