We’re carefully preserving the extensive archival collection of the creator of The Plouffe Family, Roger Lemelin. It includes scripts from the TV drama, notably the first episode, broadcast on Nov. 4, 1953!

In 1953, La famille Plouffe arrived on television screens in French Canada, and the show soon appeared in English Canada! Indeed, it was so popular that it became the first French-Canadian TV drama to be translated into English.
