Most remarkably, there exists an independent early report by the prisoner Adolf Rögner, who reported that two German prisoners of the Bunker were forced to stay there and were intentionally gassed together with the Soviet POWs and sick Poles.

Indeed, for the 5th Sep. the Bunker book registers not only the intake of 3 prisoners - Germans Fritz Renner and Bruno Grosmann, and Pole Roman Drost, but also their *deaths*. As well as the death of the Pole Ladislaus Maslak, admitted to the Bunker in August.

records the deaths of a few people on Sep. 5 that had been there before that date. Moreover, the earliest known mention of the gassing also says Sep. 5, situation report for 15.VIII – 15.XI.1941 of the Polish Government-in-Exile’s Home delegation:
