* We scan your files for malware using SiteLock's SMART technology by allowing SMART to access the file directory. We will assist in the initial setup, but if you later change permissions or firewall access without notifying us, SMART will not be able to run properly. Though SMART removes known malware, there will be instances (such as new malware strains that aren’t yet recognized or malware embedded so deeply within website files that automatic removal would be risky) when malware will have to be removed manually, which can take up to three days. SMART runs weekly on all domains that have SMART enabled, and will also be initiated immediately if critical malware is detected. If a site continues to get reinfected due to a known site vulnerability (such as an outdated plugin), we will provide details concerning this vulnerability, but it is the customer's responsibility to correct it. In cases of frequent reinfection, we cannot guarantee that SMART will be able to run as frequently as needed.
** We will initiate blacklist remediation at the customer’s request. There is no extra charge for blacklist remediation, but we cannot guarantee your domain’s removal from blacklisting entities.
