I'm an elementary school teacher. This year I have an unusually large class with an unusually high number of students with behavior plans. They weren't responding to my normal behavior management systems, so I got creative. I told them that if they earned 2000 points as a class, they could dye my hair whatever color they wanted. I was expecting it to take the better part of the school year.
It took them three months.
They voted as a class and it came down to fire or rainbow, with fire winning by a large margin (20 to 7).
I'm naturally a brunette with fairly dark hair and I had never dyed it before, so the whole process was quite new. After four hours, a full bleach and sectioned dye, this was the finished product.
I love it, the kids love it, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Now I just need to figure out how to top it!
FP Edit: Wow! You guys are so kind and positive and awesome! Thank you! Send me something you remember from school. Maybe a time a teacher made an impact on you or something funny/embarrassing/delightful that stands out in your memory.
Edit #2: Credit for the dye job goes to Liz at Supernova Hair and Tattoo in Tacoma!
