Swimming & Beaches in/near Kochi ?
I am planning to visit Kochi next autumn and having looked at the beach photos on Google Earth, I am not sure this is a great place to swim. Can anyone advise me about the beaches in the area and which ones are attractive and good for swimming ?
Also is Kochi a good place to stay in the Kerala area or should I be looking elsewhere in the area ? I like beach and places of interest as a holiday mix. Planning to stay 10 days

Gifts, souvenirs for people in Vietnam
I am traveling to Vietnam during Xmas and New Year's holidays. I wanted to bring some gifts for some people who help me in organizing the trip through Vietnam. Also, some souvenirs for places we will be visiting, villages, schools, etc. Any suggestions of what would be a nice token of appreciation for people in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos?? Thank you!

Booking with National Hotel de cuba
Do we have any locals there to help this?
We would like to stay the famous National Hotel de Cuba for a couple of nights in the Beginning of February, however the quotes was 936.00 CUC! ((964.08 EUR)! Personal friends who had spent nights there saying it shouldn't be that expensive, they paid around $100-$150 USD/per night.
There are saying that if one shows up there in person to the hotel's counter directly, one maybe can get a better rate.
Can someone verify this for us? Really appreciate this!

hey guys quick question .
I am travelling from Toronto Canada on Feb 24,2016 to Delhi, India and returning back to Canada March 20,2016 it is a round trip. . When I land in Delhi, I will drive to Punjab the same day I land because of a wedding.
On March 1 me and my friend will book a round trip from Delhi to pune.
So I will depart March 1 from Delhi to pune and have my return ticket back to Delhi March 20, (same day as my return ticket back to Canada)
My question is once I return from pune back to Delhi will I have to get out of airport to check into my flight back for Canada or can I just stay in the airport and check into my back to Canada flight.?..

Solo woman traveling in Paris on New Years Eve
I am a 54 year old woman who will be arriving in Paris Orly airport on Thursday, December 29 at 5 pm,
and flying out of DeGalle airport on Sunday, January 1 at 11 am.My questions...
1. What area in Paris should I stay in?
Since I really only have two days I would like a great location to walk to things in the area and as a base for sightseeing. I would be so grateful for decent, hotel and restaurant suggestions in that area?2. What is the best/easiest way to get from Orly to "that area" at that time of day?
3. Are there any good one day tours?
I would probably book that for Friday or Saturday, and spend the other day on my own exploring the area around my hotel.4. What is there to do on New Years Eve? I don't drink but would love to know what would be safe for me to do alone that night.
Thank you very much!

Zurich on Christmas Eve
Hi, just posted this in the Lucerne forum, but since we are spending Christmas Eve in Zurich I thought it should be posted in Zurich's forum. Thank you in advance for your suggestions!
I am a mom traveling with my three kids, ages 17, 19 and 20. The plan is to take a train from Munich on Wednesday, December 21, arriving in Lucerne at 6 pm. We have a tentative hotel reservation at Hotels Des Alps, but can still cancel with no penalty if anyone had a better suggestion.
I am slightly overwhelmed at the various options of things to do, and really want this to be an unforgettable experience for the kids. I keep looking at various tours from Viator and other companies to Mt Titlus and Mt Pilatus, but it is still not clear to me which of those two would be more enjoyable for my teen/adult kids.
We need to end up in Zurich and spend the night there on the night of December 24, Christmas Eve, so that I can take a 7am flight out of Zurich to Barcelona on Christmas morning. So here are my questions:
1. Is Hotel Des Alpes in Lucerne a decent hotel in a good location to use as a base for a two days?
Just thinking one day trip to either Mt. Titlus or Mt. Pilatus, and the other day spent exploring old town in Lucerne.
Would love suggestions for a restaurant in Lucerne for a nice dinner.2. What trip from Lucerne would be a better experience, Mt Pilatus or Mt Titlus?
Should we book a tour with a company or just figure out how to get there on our own? We would do this on either Thursday 12/22 or Friday 12/23 so I am assuming the restaurants and other attractions at the top would not be closed.3. On the morning of Christmas Eve we will take a train from Lucerne to Zurich. So with just one day in Zurich, can anyone suggest what area to stay in and what to do...as in is there a good guided tour of Zurich that would last a few hours, or are we better off just picking a nice hotel in a walkable area and exploring that on our own. Are most of the shops and restaurants closed on Christmas Eve? I would actually like to stay in a nice hotel since it is Christmas Eve, and would love restaurant suggestions for a very nice Christmas Eve dinner in Zurich. So I would love hotel and restaurant and things to do in one day, please.
I know this a lot to ask but it is getting close and I need help and need to get these thing booked.
Thank you very much! -

Best route to Swakopmund from Johannesburg
Hi there,
I am planning to drive through to Swakopmund from Johannesburg in December but am not sure whether its better to travel through Botswana (which seems to be the shorter route at 17h35mins) or through the bottom of Namibia at 20h10mins)...
Can anyone advise on the better route and give some suggestions with regards to where one can overnight?Your feedback would be greatly appreciated as we are feeling a little "lost" at the moment and still need to book accommodation along the route...

Where to spend 2 week
my wife and I are planning a 2 week visit in April and are looking to have a relaxed break only visiting 2 or 3 places, one of which will be Manila as we flying in/out of there.(we will come back again so no need to rush and try to see everything).
I have looked at a range of sites which present so many beautiful destinations that I am finding difficulty in identifying what would work best for us.In addition when I read a number of posts they present some places as being not quite as the brochures show (eg some of the posts below relating to Palawaan.
We are interested in being on picturesque beaches, seeing some cultural and historic sights and possibly doing some snorkelling/diving.
I would appreciate any thoughts from those who have visited or live in the Phillippines
THanks -
First Visit
